Traveling Hikari no Kirie: Imagination is Magic

Summer 2026 Preview

Kirie (paper-cutting) artist Sakai Atsumi has developed a unique technique, that consists in letting light pass through layered, hand-colored washi paper.
“Traveling Hikari no Kirie: Imagination is Magic” is an interactive art exhibition, which lets the visitor enter a magical world where the warmth and beauty of kirie is combined with light and video. An original work measuring approximately 20 meters in length, inspired by the landscapes of Nagasaki, will also be featured.
