Gallery Talk for Foreign Visitors
February 8 & 15, 2026

Theme: The secret of Nagasaki’s popularity in the Edo period
Join a guided tour of the Museum’s permanent exhibition conducted in English and Easy Japanese by our expert staff. Each gallery talk is 1 hour long. This time the talk will focus on Nagasaki’s popularity as a destination for students in the Edo period (1603-1868): people from all over the country would gather here to come in contact with foreign cultures, and have access to the knowledge and information that came from overseas.
The event itself is free, but a ticket to the permanent exhibition is required to participate (admission is free for international students in Nagasaki Prefecture and students enrolled in one of the universities participating in the museum’s Campus Members program).
